ON-CAMERA FAMILY HISTORY VIDEO APPROACH

Video takes great pride in making the process of capturing your family history
on video as easy as possible. We will
guide you every step of the way. For the on-camera video taping, we will
provide a Producer who is skilled in the art of interviewing. This will
ensure that your family member is comfortable with the process and eager to
relate his or her memories. Here
is how it works:
Pre-Production:
We
will send you a list of sample questions designed to evoke stories and memories
in order to help you prepare for the on-camera "interview". We
will also send you guidelines for selecting photos to be included in the final
video.
Production:
We will schedule up to 6 hours at your location which will include reviewing any pertinent information,
photos,
documents etc., to help you select the photos which will be the most appropriate
for your video. We encourage you to select old family photos of occasions or
moments or people which relate to the history of the family.
We will then borrow those photos to scan and include in the video.
When we do our video tape "interview" we work with list of general questions designed to evoke memories and family history. We encourage you to make your own list of questions that might prompt the telling of a favorite story.
We
will review the interview questions or "story prompts" with the
family member who will be video taped to ensure he or she is comfortable and
ready to be on camera. We will
video tape up to 2 hours.
Post
Production Planning:
Rainbow
will create “VHS window burn tapes” of all video taping.
These tapes have reference numbers at the bottom so that we can select
the exact pieces you want included in your final video.
We will start with a meeting of up to 3 hours at our location to view the 2 hours
of “time coded” video tape and select the pieces.
We will review photos to be included to make sure we know where they go. At that point we can edit the video alone or you
can schedule a session to work on it with us.
Post
Production:
This
package includes up to 12 hours post production time.
This time includes scanning photos and other flat art material (3 hrs.),
animating your scanned flat art materials (3 hrs.), adding
digital effects, adding any text graphics, incorporating any provided video
tape, and combining it with the on-camera video and music
from Rainbow’s library (6 hrs.).
Deliverables:
We will provide you with 2 VHS copies plus a bonus CD ROM of all scanned photos and
flat art documents. We will also store a digital MiniDV
Edited Master Video Tape in our library for safe keeping.
